BLOOD ALCOHOL CONTENT (TYPE II - INTOXIMETER DMT)

Prerequisite: MSHP officers only.

Course Description: This course provides technical information about the physiology and pharmacology of alcohol, DHSS rules and regulations, Missouri statutory and case law regarding driving while intoxicated, and technical training on the Intoximeter DMT blood alcohol measurement instrument.  This training fulfills the DHSS requirements for a Type II permit for the Intox DMT, enabling the graduate to perform maintenance and make repairs to the Intox DMT breath analysis instrument.  The Type II graduate is also able to conduct Type III training courses (subject to approval from the DHSS). 

Who Should Attend: Personnel assigned the duties of either departmental Intox DMT instrument maintenance or blood alcohol measurement compliance oversight (supervision of Type III permittees).

Tuition/Registration Fees: Registration fees are due 7 days prior to the start of the class.  If fees are not paid in full, the student will not be allowed to attend the course.  Forty-eight (48) hours notice of cancellation is required for a full tuition refund.  Exceptions to the refund policy will be at the discretion of the Director of Training.

Continuing Education Hours:

  • 35 hours of Technical Studies
  • 8 hours of Legal Studies
  • 7 hours of Skill Development
