CRIMINAL PATROL

  • September 16-19, 2019

Prerequisite: MSHP members who focus their self-initiated activity on making drug and other criminal arrests.

Course Description: This 30-hour course is designed for any member who conducts roadside investigations.   

Criminal patrol strategies relate directly to the primary purpose of the Missouri State Highway Patrol to enforce traffic laws and promote safety upon the highways.  Criminal interdiction strategies such as the mindset of the officer, different methods of criminal patrol enforcement, as well as vehicle selection will be covered.  Additionally, training will be provided covering the practical application of conducting a traffic stop and searching the vehicle as well as additional follow up and court preparation.

Who Should Attend: Members who are assigned to road duties.

Cost:

  • None Patrol Members ONLY

Continuing Education Hours:

  • 8 hours of Technical Studies
  • 8 hours of Interpersonal Perspectives
  • 10 hours of Legal Studies
  • 4 hours of Skill Development
